A Case of Esophageal Foreign Body Complicated with Lung Abscess

Abstract
|
|
|
This is a case report of an esophageal foreign body which resulted in lung abscess.
A prisoner swallowed a "C" shaped, 12cm. length metal wire, which perforated the esophageal wall and finally lodged in the right upper ling lobe producing´ mediastinitis and lung abscess.
The patient was treated successfully by doing open thoracotomy and right upper lobectomy.
